Representatives of RAOS Project Oy conducted the planned audit of Energomashspetsstal PJSC as part of the RAOS Project Oy audit program for 2021. The purpose of the audit was to verify the compliance of the activities of EMSS PJSC with the terms of the Contract and the requirements applied in the Hanhikivi-1 NPP construction project.
The audit team included Vladimir Kobzev, lead auditor, Svetlana Vologzhanina, auditor, and Draghi Srbinoski, technical expert. Observers from Fennovoima Oy participated in the audit via video conference.
As part of the audit, the areas of activity of Energomashspetsstal PJSC directly related to the project implementation were inspected, including the compliance of EMSS management system with the requirements of ISO standards and regulatory documents used in the Hanhikivi-1 NPP project.
During the audit, the effectiveness of corrective measures was assessed based on the comments of previous audits carried out at Energomashspetsstal PJSC. Also, the auditors assessed the level of readiness of Energomashspetsstal PJSC for the start of equipment manufacturing for the Hanhikivi-1 NPP project.
During their three-day visit, the experts assessed the current state of technical documentation, planning and preparation of production, the readiness of the testing laboratory, workflow and traceability during production, nuclear safety culture and employee qualifications at Energomashspetsstal PJSC.
The auditors commended on the high level of organization and readiness demonstrated by Energomashspetsstal PJSC, with effective technical support additionally highlighted by observers from Fennovoima. According to the auditors, the requirements management system and risk management at Energomashspetsstal PJSC have made good progress. The procedures and technical instructions developed at Energomashspetsstal PJSC were demonstrated at the stage of readiness to start production.
The positive opinion expressed by the auditors will allow EMSS PJSC to participate in Hanhikivi-1 NPP construction as a supplier of blanks for the reactor vessel and steam generator.
The Hanhikivi-1 NPP construction project was approved by the Finnish government in September 2014. The future nuclear power plant will be located on the Hanhikivi cape in the Pyhäjoki municipality in Finland. The NPP will feature a Generation III+ VVER-1200 reactor unit. The project complies with IAEA and EUR standards and will be adapted to the Finnish national safety requirements, which are recognized by experts as the most stringent in the world.
